Tasting Notes:

The Nebbiolo grape in the blend presents a unique fusion of full-bodied structure and delicate floral notes, offering a palate filled with cherries and rose petal, complex undertones of sandalwood, dried herbs, and balsamic, and medium-plus acidity paired with elevated tannins. It offers a great approachable introduction to one of Italy's most famous grapes. Pairings include roasted meats, truffles, and mushrooms, as well as pasta dishes, game birds, and veal. It also complements stews, garlic-infused dishes, and eggplant. For cheese pairings, opt for fuller bodied washed-rind options like Taleggio or Fontina, or pair with a well made fondue.

About G.D. Vajra

The Vajra family has tended to Bricco delle Viole, the highest cru in Comune di Barolo, since the 1880s. At just fifteen, Aldo Vajra committed to revitalizing his family's legacy. Taking over the estate in 1968, he achieved the region's first organic certification in 1971 and introduced private biotype selections of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto. Today, managing 40 hectares of vineyards, the family's holdings include prized vineyards in Bricco delle Viole, Fossati, Coste de Vergne, and La Volta. Recent acquisitions in Sino commune yield exquisite Langhe Nebbiolo. Grounded in values of attention to detail and humility towards nature, the Vajra family, led by Aldo and Milena, and joined by their children and a dedicated team, upholds G.D. Vajra's independent, family-owned ethos.
