Based on winemaker Evan Lewandowski's time spent apprenticing in Tuscany, L.Stone is an homage to the makers of classic Brunello di Montalcino that he studied under. Made from the Sangiovese Grosso clone that is grown in the Brunello appellation, this wine has a delicate yet robust nose of tart marasca cherries, dried scruffy herbs, balsamic vinegar, and whiffs of potting soil. The palate is refined, with tart cherries, red currant, red apple, and medium-plus acidity and tannin, all giving a clear nod to the Italian roots it's meant to embody. Pairing for this wine would follow many of the classics for Brunello - game birds, dried herbs, truffled dishes, and dishes rich in umami. For cheese, look to Parmigiana-Reggiano and Pecorino
