Product Description
Tasting Notes:
This full-bodied, aromatic wine offers an oxidative palate with bold flavors of baked pear and toasted American oak, accompanied by subtle hints of caramel and bell pepper, resulting in a rich and complex profile balanced with medium-plus acidity. Ideal pairings include hearty dishes such as fish stew, paella, and shellfish, which complement the wine's depth of flavor (and are of course traditional regional pairings). It also pairs beautifully with grilled meats, asparagus, and shrimp dishes. Almonds and garlicky dishes further elevate its slightly nutty complexity. For cheese pairings, consider bold washed-rind soft cheeses, which complement the wine's texture and bold flavors.
About Urbina
In 1870, Salvador Urbina founded Urbina wines in Cuzcurrita, using vineyards still in use today. His descendants, including Pedro and Jesús Angel, began production in 1986, utilizing stainless steel tanks. Today, led by the fourth generation, Urbina wines are crafted exclusively from grapes grown in their own vineyards, employing organic fertilizers and traditional cultivation methods. They prioritize quality over quantity, with yields ranging between 5,000 and 6,500 kilograms per hectare, and minimize pesticide and fungicide use. During winemaking, native yeasts contribute to Urbina wines' unique personality and complexity.
