Product Description
Tasting Notes:
Classic Champagne: rich, crisp, with fine effervescence, and offering flavours of green and yellow apples, pear, toast, lemon curd, and medium-plus acidity providing a refreshing and lively palate. All the classic pairings work here: luxurious dishes such as caviar, oysters, eggs, lobster, sea urchin, foie gras, and smoked salmon, as well as deep-fried appetizers and toast. Cheese pairings include saltier varieties like Comté, Gruyère, and Parmigiano-Reggiano, but also creamy Brie-styles.
About Voirin-Jumel
After World War II, Jean Voirin began bottling champagne instead of selling grapes in bulk, while René Jumel transitioned from a transport business to vineyard ownership in the Côte des Blancs. René's wife, Paulette Richomme, managed the vineyards. In the early 1970s, their daughter Francoise Jumel and husband Gilles Voirin formed Voirin-Jumel, producing nearly 10,000 bottles in their first year. They vinify separate grape lots, undergo malolactic fermentation, and stabilize wines in January. After tasting, specific lots are chosen, with low dosages highlighting terroir diversity. Champagnes age for 3-4 years, resulting in fresh, low-acidity profiles. All production is sold directly by their estate.
